Teaming Opportunities

Cornell teams with business and industry to pursue federal and private sector contracts. For example:

• Intel, Microsoft, and Unisys teamed together with CAC to win a $1.8 million NSF Information Access and Analysis award.
• Northrop Grumman primed and Cornell led the academic institutions in a successful $14.2 million DARPA bid for a system that predicts structural failures. Other industry partners that participated in that bid and the successful $17.8 million follow-on option included Alcoa, Impact Technologies, Oceana Sensor, Matech, Sikorsky Aircraft, and JENTEK Sensors.
  
• SAIC subcontracted oil industry high-performance computing systems and application consulting to CAC. Consulting took place at the customer's site in South America.

CAC can be a valuable test-bed or proof-of concept partner on projects that, for example, need to demonstrate scalability or performance. CAC has a professional staff of systems, application, and visualization consultants.

CAC collaborator, Cornell Operations Research and Industrial Engineering, has financial engineering expertise and operates an outreach office in New York City (OR Manhattan) at the heart of Wall Street. Coupled with CAC's computational expertise, ORIE is an exceptional teaming partner or subcontractor.

CAC collaborates with Cornell Computing and Information Science whose faculty has expertise in:

• Computer Science
• Computational Biology
• Computational Science and Engineering
• Computer Graphics
• Information Science
• Statistical Science

Cornell University faculty has expertise in over 100 fields, including:

• Engineering
  • For example,  Anthony Ingraffea, has been PI on over $30 million in R&D projects from federal and corporate sponsors, including Boeing, Caterpillar, General Dynamics, Kodak, IBM, and Schlumberger
• Biology: Agriculture and Life Sciences, Chemical, Plant, Molecular and Genetics
• Medicine
