Horizon Web Console: Shares

Red Cloud 2 is currently in beta testing and not available to all users. If you are not a Red Cloud 2 beta tester, use the production Red Cloud instead. This Red Cloud 2 documentation is still under development.

Shares in Red Cloud are managed under the Projects and Shares tabs.

List Existing Shares

  1. The Shares screen under the Shares tab lists all shares accessible by this project:

Create a Share

  1. Click on Create Share in the upper right corner of the Shares screen.

  2. Name the share, enter a helpful description, and choose a size in GB. Leave Share Type and Availability Zone as cephfstype and nova. Then click on Create.

  3. Follow instructions in adding share rules to create credentials for clients to access the newly created share.

Resize a Share

  1. Click on Resize Share in the dropdown menu.

  2. Enter a new size and click on Resize.

Delete a Share

  1. Click on Delete Share in the dropdown menu and click on Delete Share to confirm.

Add a Share Rule

  1. Click on Manage Rules in the dropdown menu. This opens a new tab where rules can be added or removed.

  2. In Access Type, choose cephx and select the level of access you want to grant to the user in Access Level. Enter full_access in Access To.

  3. Click on Create. A new rule should appear with the authorization key that is required to access this share. Each user should get their own authorization key to prevent issues.

Remove a Share Rule

  1. Click on Manage Rules in the dropdown menu. Click Delete Rule to remove the rule associated with this share.
