Leveraging External Computing Resources
CAC helps Cornell researchers access high-end computing resources beyond campus by offering guidance and support for national and commercial computing platforms.
National Cyberinfrastructure Access
We provide expert advice on how to request and use NSF-funded national-scale systems available through the Advanced Cyberinfrastructure Coordination Ecosystem: Services and Support (ACCESS) program. ACCESS uses a merit-review process to ensure efficient use of its resources.
CAC Engagements with National Centers
- CAC was awarded a Jetstream2 regional cloud from Indiana University, which has been integrated with Cornell's Red Cloud.
- We've developed user training programs for both Jetstream2 and TACC's Frontera supercomputer.
- We were selected as training partner for the NSF Leadership-Class Computing Facility (LCCF).
Cornell Virtual Workshop (CVW)
Our Cornell Virtual Workshop platform supports national learning communities by offering:
- Hands-on code examples from national computer centers
- Training on parallel computing, code optimization, data analysis, and more
Over 350,000 unique users have accessed CVW resources.
